Profile -- Heinrich Rudolf Hertz
Heinrich Rudolf Hertz was born on February 22, 1857 in Hamburg, Germany. His father was Gustav Ferdinand Hertz and his mother was Anna Elisabeth Pfefferkon. He went to college in the University of Munich and then transferred to the University of Berlin. There, he graduated magna cum laude and received his Ph.D. in Philosophy, under renowned physicist Hermann von Helmholtz. Before he became a physicist, he worked in engineering construction. He excelled in mathematics, languages and drawing. He married Elizabeth Doll and had two daughters. He died on January 1, 1894 in Bonn, Germany due to blood poisoning. |
